Todays Nail Of The Day is OPI's 'Are We There Yet?' which OPI describes as the 'perfect melon shade'. I bought this one online and it doesn't look quite as creamy as the bottle pictured on the internet but is a gorgeous colour none the less.
I would describe this polish as if a bright orange has been sheered out so that it doesn't look so full on.
The sheer-ness of it makes it a very wearable colour for everyday and I think it would suit many different skin tones, it also lasted really well and stayed on for about 5 days, which is good for me as I handle nail polish remover practically everyday!
The best way of procrastinating is definitely getting caught up on Youtube videos and quite a few of the girls that I had watched all had these gorgeous, summery, flower nail designs on which kept catching my eye. Investigating a little further I found out that they were Sally Hansens 'Spring Fever' Nail Strips.
After searching through my local Boots and Superdrug and coming out empty handed I decided Iw ould just have a go at creating my own. This is what I came up with and I'm pretty pleased with the result! :)
They were actually fairly easy to do, just quite time consuming to get the design on all 10 nails. I used a base coat of Alpine Snow by OPI and all the other colours on top were with acrylic paint making it easier to work with. And of course I filmed it to show you guys...

I feel like I've been absent from the internet for ages and am making a vow to properly get back to uploading videos on a slightly more regular schedule, starting today!
I found this video saved on my computer that I filmed absolutely ages ago but just hadnt got round to editing so today I gotten into gear and edited/voice overed (if that's even a word!) and uploaded all this afternoon!
As I said I filmed this ages ago but as the weather is starting to get warm where I am I figured it's still relevant as it is a very spring/summery design.
I love the ikat design as you can play about with the colour as much as you like, making it either very uniform or as crazy as you fancy having each nail a different colour! I decided to use three main colours that were all really summery! Along with OPI's Alpine Snow and a black nail art polish I also used Max Factors 'Pretty In Pink', Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple' and 'OMP!' by Nails Inc (although I think this colour was made as a limited edition as a freebie for a magazine).

I would say that water decals are one of the easiest ways to create intricate nail art designs on your nails, once you have figured out how to use them.
There are two types of water decals
Nail Art - detailed designs that are put on top of your chosen nail polish colour
And...
Full Nail - a patterened water decal that will cover your whole nail, leaving you with a similar look like many nail wraps or minx.

I love all the gorgeous vintage inspired patterns and products from Cath Kidston and thought it would be really cute to create some nail art inspired by this.

And this is what I came up with...
I used Barry M's Blueberry Ice-Cream on all my fingers except for my ring finger which was Essie's Mint Candy Apple and then I used acrylic paint for the floral pattern. Watch my video below to find out how I created the design...it's easier than you'd think!
I also wore the design as just a ring finger manicure and everyone loved it! :) I even had to paint it for one of my friends that wanted it over the top of her Shellac manicure.
I am loving the 'ombre' look at the moment for hair and nails so thought I would make a quick little video to show how easy it is to achieve for your nails.
I chose to use 'Aqua Baby' by China Glaze and 'Mint Candy Apple' by Essie for mine but you can use any colours you think will look good together, you can even add more colours if you're feeling adventurous!
Apart from the polishes of your choice you will also need:
- Top and base coats
- Cosmetic Sponge
- Scrap Paper
- Cotton buds with polish remover (this can get a little messy)
This is the finished look, i think it's great to wear on its own or is a good starting point if you want to get a little more artistic and use it as a base for other nail art.
